Sheet Music Collecting An Art or a Time Waste

Why do some people have this peculiar thing for music sheet collecting? Why do they invest on these papers with weird like squiggly drawings? Probably the reason would be very plain as each of us loves music, a way of expressing our admiration for those people who stood up and showed who they are, an inspiration. As simple as why so many people love Mother Theresa.

Sheet music collecting is like a passion for collecting memorabilia such as baseballs cards, postage stamps or character toys and collectibles. Vintage sheets are more valuable and more expensive than the contemporary ones. The older the sheet is the greater is its value, especially those autographed and still in good condition and layout quality summing up to best quality sheets. This is the reason why only the rich get the opportunity to acquire such a hobby and artistry. Being able to hunt and look up for such diverse kind of sheets and collecting them from reasonable prices would be a great challenge.

Modes of collecting music sheets differ. A person would prefer considering only a single composer, the other would just choose to focus on contemporary or classical pieces, or sheets of his favorite songs, and others would just take into account a wide range of styles, category and variety.

Like Broadway, fanatics go for classical and orchestral presentations. Some goes for colorful sheets. Some just go for popular ones like the Beatles, for which they represent the pop genre. Nevertheless, what links them all? They collect these sheets because they want to unlock the memories, culture, history and distinctive styles of those artists.   Their unique way of collection serves as a mirror of their character, what interests them, their own way of representing their artwork

Sources of music sheets are not a problem nowadays, there is no need to hop from one music store or antique shop to another, or search from a pile up of composition pieces just to get one.

A search for song titles, browse for better editions then download from the web then a print out would make it effortless for a collector who doesnt prefer to go for copyrighted ones. Just be sure that what song title you are looking for fits the right composer.

Another would just be as easy as purchasing from sites such as EBay then a trouble free payment using your internationally accepted credit cards such as your VISA or American Express cards. A click on to the internet would do the work. That is how technologically advance the world is now.

See, there are too much things to regard. It is not just simply a thought of collection; it requires a creative mind and resourceful ideas. Some people think that such deeds of collecting are just substitutes for boredom but these are artworks for people with such an incredible fervor for art and music.

They consider their collections as priceless possessions.  These people of passion take pride in what they do. Collecting, in fact, is a challenge, an achievement and a plausible reward not only for those writers and musicians but for themselves as well the beauty of collecting. A challenge is an art itself.  So, have you made up your mind already, is music sheet music collecting a waste of time? I guess not.
