Where Is Shelfari for Music?

Tue, 08 Apr 2008 21:07:01 PDT
I believe I made a plea for this some time ago, but I am reiterating it tonight. I want a service similar to Shelfari for music. Shelfari is a web 2.0 application for books. One adds the books he owns. I usually type in the ISBN and the database spits backs the details of the book. I select to add it to my shelf. From there I can do a lot. I can record when I read the book, tag the book, write a review, create favorite/will read/am reading, etc. lists, and so on. It seems trivial to replicate

Muncie GOP: "Ball YOU"

Tue, 08 Apr 2008 21:08:00 PDT
In a sense, Muncie is like nearly every other city and town in our state this active primary season. Folks are registering to vote in record numbers. They're excited about their voice being heard. After all, for the first time in 40 years, our primary votes here in the Hoosier state actually carry some weight. People are rightfully excited and are flocking to join the democratic process this year. For the last four months, the media has reported on the record number of new voter registrations,

New River Street Architecture Offices

New River Street Architecture Offices River Street Architecture Originally uploaded by Josiah Roe During the course of my becoming a regular at the new CBC AVO Lounge on Cherry Street I had the opportunity to watch the renovation of the building that's become the new offices of River Street Architecture. The building is (or soon will be) LEED Certified, was designed by River Street Architecture, and I believe was the first project done in partnership with green|spaces (though I could be

CMO 2.0

Tue, 08 Apr 2008 21:08:19 PDT
The fact that the average tenure of a big-company CMO continues to hover around a measly two years is well documented in repeated Spencer Stuart studies. It has been suggested that part of the reason for this rapid turnover is the tremendous pressure now exerted on CMOs to quickly demonstrate tangible, high-return results for their marketing expenditures and efforts. While I think that pressure is real and causative to the CMO revolving door, I think there is a deeper reason behind the volatili

Scalia to Go Before the News Cameras -- Voluntarily (Law.com)

Tue, 08 Apr 2008 21:10:53 PDT
Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who makes no secret of his disdain for the news media, has agreed to appear in a segment of CBS News' "60 Minutes" on the eve of the publication date for a new book he has co-authored. In the life of the Court and Scalia's career, this is a remarkable, Nixon-goes-to-China moment. No justice has excoriated the news media like Scalia has, and it would have ...

Working From Home: Mommy Bloggers

Tue, 08 Apr 2008 21:10:57 PDT
I’m a single mom now and I look around at my life and realize I never, ever thought I would have to find a way to support my child on my own. I assumed, back when I was married, that I would be home for my daughter and once she was older I would work part-time. As it stands I will eventually need to work outside the home again fulltime (more than likely by utilizing my teacher certification here in Florida), but for now I have found ways to make money from home so I can be home with Gigi for a

Big Brother 9 04-08-2008 Golden Power of Veto

Tue, 08 Apr 2008 21:12:38 PDT
Big Brother 9 04-08-2008 Golden Power of Veto The sacrilegious alliance Ryan, Natalie and Sheila are furious with Adam for his nomination of Sheila instead of James. I love the move on a personal level but agree that as a game decision it wasn't the smartest move to make. It puts a target on Adam and makes his own alliance distrust him making him the first to be eliminated on the totem pole. So Adam is on the outs with his alliance but he possibly gained James' vote. Not a good trade off

CNN reports that Navy Seal Michael Monsoor received the nation's highest military honor today. Petty Officer 2nd Class Monsoor received the Medal of Honor. Unfortunately, it was posthumously and his parents received it in his stead. CNN tells the story: On September 29, 2006, Monsoor was part of a major clearing and isolating operation to root out enemy fighters holding parts of Ramadi, the Sunni insurgent stronghold west of Baghdad. Monsoor was in a sniper position on a rooftop along with
